| Dental Operatory: This all-metal Pullman coach-sleeper was built in 1914 and named BLYSTHESWOOD. The 80-foot 12-section heavyweight was sold to the Great Northern in 1953 and converted to work car 0-3280. Finally declared old and tired at Hillyard (the former Great Northern shops immediately north of Spokane) Burlington Northern auctioned her for scrap in February of 1979. The raised roof on the top allowed enough space for the air conditioning ducts to be hidden above a lowered ceiling. |

| Four dental chairs face west windows in the Pullman car. Umbilical tubing carry the utilities, hidden below the windows, to the dental carts. The X-ray area is reached immediately upon entering the car from the reception area. Each car is serviced by a separate heat pump that sits on a metal platform welded to the frame underneath. The main service of 440 volts enters the Pullman car from underneath and has 220 volt leads going to individual service panels in the locomotive and caboose. |
